Biography

As an undergraduate, Harvey Morris already had his sights on becoming a lawyer and was able to expedite that process under the rules at that time by enrolling at the university’s law school after three years as an undergrad. He received his J.D. in 1966, returned to his home turf and has been practicing in Huntsville from that day to this.

At first, he worked  in the law firm of Smith, Johnston & Walker, where he concentrated his practice on personal injury, criminal defense, and domestic relations. Later, he went out on his own and founded the firm that would become Morris, King & Hodge.

Morris says he has no plans to slow down any time soon—because he loves his work too much. “It’s just fun,” he says. “Where else do you have the chance to be confronted with 12 people in the jury box—12 different personalities—and try to convince those individuals that your position is correct? Sometimes people say, ‘Why don’t you retire?’, and the answer is: Because it’s just too much fun.”

Experience

Over the course of his nearly 50-year career, Harvey Morris has handled numerous significant verdicts and settlements and has been recognized for his many contributions to the legal profession. He is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, which is limited to one percent of the nation’s trial lawyers. In addition, he has been named to Best Lawyers in America, SuperLawyers, the Top 100 Trial Lawyers and has received Martindale-Hubbell’s top AV lawyer rating.
